Now I will be one of the first to admit that I am not, and probably will never be, a professional photographer! That doesn’t mean I am not going to post some of my photography on my blog though.
With two recent trips to Italy and equipped with a Digital SLR, needless to say I got a bit snap happy. I’m an average guy with an average skill to take photos, and will never claim to be a pro in this field. This is the first Digital SLR I have ever bought, it is basic, but I couldn’t ask for anything more to get started and carry around with me. The camera I am talking about is a Sony a200, at the time of purchasing it in February 2009, it was Sony’s entry level Digital SLR and was priced around £320. The lens that came with the camera was 18-70mm, and the camera itself is 10.2 megapixels. I am not going to go into details on the camera as I am still learning new tricks with it… yes that’s right, after nearly 3 years, I still don’t fully understand it! But all I can say is that I am happy with the camera and can recommend it for Digital SLR newbies.
Some of the sites that I visited were, Florence, Siena and Pisa, with photos below from these beautiful cities, the attention to detail of the landmarks blew me away. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, is exactly as you imagined, yep, not straight! The Palazzo Pubblico right in the centre of Siena, I got an interesting shot of the tower from the courtyard, and managed to squeeze in the 3 buildings of Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore of Florence in the middle of the very very busy centre.
As I said, with holidays that I have taken in Italy recently, My camera came along for the ride and helped me snap some of the amazing sights the country had to offer. Above you will see some of my favourite snaps from my first trip, and I will shortly add some more, if I can find some worthy of web space! In the meantime, enjoy these, and I will be uploading more of my photography from my travels Including the extremely beautiful Lake Garda, the romantic city of Paris, the Caribbean, and random snaps from around the place.
If you would like hi-res copy of any photos I publish on my blog, please get in touch.
