Glamorous U Hair & Beauty Salon have not long opened their doors in Risca to provide a modern, relaxing and glamorous experience to the people of Newport. The new and sleek salon has a young vibe with a luxury atmosphere with women of all ages booking appointments from their wide selection of hair and body treatments. The company was branded by design reaction, along with the design and print of flyers, vouchers and posters, Glamorous U contracted design reaction to custom design and develop their new website.

The website kept on brand, with a sleek, glossy dark feel, with the use of stock imagery and salon shots. The site consisted of the usual homepage, about, contact, price lists, staff, news and products page, and was built with a CMS for the client to amend prices and add news as needed. The project also involved setting up social media channels for Facebook and Twitter.

Glamorous U have had a great start to their business, and are soon looking to have a mobile app so that their customers can easily call the salon direct, book an appointment via a calendar and benefit from special offers sent and alerted to them direct from their smartphone.

Envirotekenergy flyer for solar energy in wales and NI

Envirotekenergy required a solar flyer designed to promote their company providing solar energy in wales with their small solar installation special offers. The flyer was design so the prices were bold and the main selling point of the literature.

The solar industry in Northern Ireland is still growing and becoming more competitive, Envirotekenergy reacted to this by pushing their local awareness with a flyer drop. design reaction created an A5 flyer based on the previous design to keep on brand with new details and information

Solar corporate brochure design & print

Over the past year, Envirotekenergy have grown rapidly, expanding in to the Northern Ireland market as well as Wales and continuously growing to be one of the key solar energy installers in the UK. Envirotekenergy requested a corporate brochure design to be used across Wales, Northern Ireland and throughout the UK. The A4 brochure designed kept on brand, with a professional corporate look that was easy to follow and bright with the use of the blue and carefully selected solar photos. The solar brochure design certainly stands out and was created so that it could be easily emailed by PDF to customers and was built so that it can be printed to a high standard.

design reaction designed a business card sized sun UV indicator and provided a printed prototype, the client also wished for a short animated sequence of the prototype.

The basic animation involved the use of photoshop and final cut express to create the short video showing the process of how the card would work when exposed to the sun.

design reaction created a YouTube channel to host the video so that the client could access the video when out of the office. The channel was created to host all future design reaction video projects. Visit the recently launched design reaction YouTube channel.

Sun UV level indicator design, print and video

I was approached by a customer to design and create a prototype of a business card size Sun UV level indicator that would perfectly fit into your pocket or handbag that would be helpful and convenient to hold on to. The design of the card needed to be clean and clearly displaying all information that the user would need to know, with a clear indication of the Sun’s rays at a certain time of the day. Once the card was created, the customer required a short video produced to show how the indication would change colour when in sunlight.

Perfection by Susan Gift Vouchers

Perfection by Susan mobile beauty and tanning wanted to prepare herself for Christmas by purchasing gift vouchers as an ideal Christmas gift. design reaction provided the design and printed the gift vouchers on A6 card allowing Susan to write the treatments for the person receiving the gift voucher. The design follows in theme of the Perfection by Susan brand, with a strong use of the colour pink to the front side with contact details while the reverse is clean with a subtle background texture with plenty of space to write the required information.

Prior to the official launch this month, Glamorous U got in touch with design reaction to design and print a promotional flyer to hand out around the South Wales area to maximise awareness of the opening of  a new Hair & Beauty Salon in Newport.

The flyer promotes the new business keeping on brand with the luxurious black and white style whilst enticing customers with a 20% discount off any hair and beauty treatment throughout November as an opening offer.

The flyer contains key details such as opening date, salon location, services, contact details, logo, professional images and more importantly the 20% discount that draws the on-lookers attention on the purple background.
