Cre8ive Carpentry, Ammanford

Cre8ive Carpentry is a family run business based in Llandybie near Ammanford since the mid 90’s, and has a great track record of reliability across their range of services. The Cre8ive Carpentry site had served its purpose over the years, but felt they needed to move on and update the site to be in keeping with the times. Cre8ive Carpentry requested a re-design to their original site as well as add an image gallery to add that little extra to the site.

Cre8ive Carpentry requested the design to be clean and stick with the light blue colours, and to be easy to get around the site. Another addition to the new site is a secure contact form on the contact page. The additional gallery page gives the visitor a little more confidence in choosing Cre8ive Carpentry for any upcoming projects.

Google analytics has also been applied for the client to track the number of visitors visiting their site and to follow how they are arriving at their site.

The Smiths Arms, Foelgastell

The Smiths Arms Foelgastell near Cross Hands, South Wales is a quaint country pub with great food, local beers and a close community. Customers travel from afar to The Smiths Arms to try their local foods with exclusive evenings being held as fish nights, curry nights, entertainment and more. The country pub and restaurant based in Foelgastell have great feedback from their customers, that returning customers book special events and parties there. The Smiths Arms decided to expand their site to display their full food and drinks menus and due to the continuous changes to the menus, they needed a CMS system so they could log in and change the details when needed.

The design of the site is traditional yet modern, a site design that would appeal to all ages. The brief stated that The Smiths Arms colours were red and black, so without making the site too dark, I incorporated a third pale yellow colour to a hint of heritage to the site, and this has worked very well. The site is fully managed by the client, so that they can change text as and when wanted, update menus, add images to the pages, add posts to the news page and update the Swans page.

The site also features a secure contact form along with a Google map, with Google analytics for the client to track the number and pattern of visitors. The Smiths Arms, Foelgastell is also the first of my clients sites to incorporate the new Cookie policy law.

Envirotekenergy

Envirotekenergy are quite a new company in the Solar panel installation scene, and were looking for a clean, modern site full of information to convert visitors to loyal customers.

Envirotekenergy found design reaction via a google search for a local web designer in the Ammanford area. After a quick look at my web site and portfolio, followed by a phonecall to find out what I could provide and for what price, Envirotekenergy were more than happy to commision Design Reaction to design and build their new website.

Envirotekenergy wanted the site to be clean, with minimal design elements, so I decided to attack the design with light shades of greys, and some subtle blues to tie in with the brand.

The client decided to go for a static site which has 7 pages plus a site map. The pages include a home page, about solar, products, green deal, case studies page with a gallery, contact form and a solar calculator. The calculator is provided by solar guide which estimates details such as how much the customer is expected to generate and earn based on their input.

Cool Energy Systems solar energy website design south wales

Cool Energy Systems

Cool Energy Systems were looking to get a clean and informative site to raise their companies awareness in the South Wales area as well as promote their solar energy products.

Design reaction was recommended to Cool Energy Systems by a previous client. They decided that between the price being right, and my portfolio suiting their needs, Cool Energy Systems chose to use me to design and build their new site.

Cool Energy Systems already had literature out in the field, so the design needed to keep within brand, yet clear to potential site visitors. The site’s design is primarily white with a light shade of sky blue, with a third colour of green, tying in with the majority of their competitors.

The site has a static front page and services page, with a gallery case studies page and a secure contact form. The client has CMS access to log in and change content when needed, as well as upload new images to the case studies page.

Barleybind is an expanding business, and were looking to bring their web presence in keeping with the time as well as a CMS system to manage their expansion plans. The CMS system enables the client to update pages, news, events and add new Care Homes as they grow.

The design keeps in theme of their current branding, and has a professional yet subtle approach so that it is easy to navigate, and user friendly to visitors of all ages. The site has 6 main pages, with an unlimited number of news pages for the client to add as they wish as well as individual care home specific pages. On the majority of the pages, you will find recent news posts that are automated when the client adds a new post to the news & events page, a static services and careers page, and a secure contact form.

There is a main ‘Our Homes’ page that briefly describes the company homes with a drop down list when you hover over this link to select a specific home. These pages all show contact details as well as a map.

The client has plans to expand the site further for secure login so that staff can log in from different areas to access private material.

Replay Education Services CMS web design

Replay Education Services CMS web design

Replay Education Services

I first designed and built the Replay Education Services website whilst working at a previous design agency. The site was built as a CMS so that the client could log in and amend text as needed and add news stories.

After 10 months of leaving my post from the previous workplace, I was contacted by Replay Education Services of Llanelli, South Wales to make amendments to the current site as the client was happy with my previous service and design style. At this point the site was transferred over for me to make the changes requested.

The site began as a 4 page CMS site with a homepage, workshop page, news page and contact page, where the client could log in and add news pieces as they wanted. The current changes included styling text to add ‘area of coverage’, amend the workshop page to display 4 separate workshop pages, and add an Amazon Affiliate widget to promote certain products to monetize the site.

South Wales Cottage CMS website design

South Wales Cottage CMS website design

South Wales Cottage CMS website design

South Wales Cottage

The client approached design reaction for a basic CMS website to promote their cottage holiday home in Wales. The cottage is currently being advertised on Stay in Wales and ebay, but they required a more professional touch to market the holiday home and have a bit more control on what they can display and provide potential visitors with regarding cottage features and local attractions.

The site is a 5 page brochure site, consisting of a welcome page, information about the cottage page, links and description on famous local attractions, a gallery to display the cottage and a contact form for visitors to easily request information or check on availability. There is an extra page, special offers, which the the client has control over via CMS to turn it on or off depending on there being offers available or not.

Each page has the same layout for ease of navigation for potential customers to find their way around the site without getting confused, and each page displays the cottage features on the right column, this is handy information on hand for the viewers if they have a question regarding the cottages specification.

The cottage is ideally located in the rural village of Cwmtwrch, South Wales, that is ideal for a quiet getaway for a short weekend break, or if you are looking for a base that is easy to drive to some of the best attractions in Wales.

Mount Kilimanjaro 2011 Charity

Lowri and Helen decided to raise money for two charities that they strongly believed in helping, those being Ataxia UK, and Cancer Research UK. The twist to the fundraising is that in October 2011, they will both be hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. In a build up to this, they will be holding a number of small fundraisers and wanted to maximize the interest to generate the best possible turnout to each event to raise the best they can.

Using the social marketing media of Facebook, design reaction have built a custom design Facebook fan page that is displayed as their landing page. This is used to promote upcoming charity events, post blogs of their build up to October, and provide information on the charities and the challenge. As Lowri and Helen are using Just Giving for their online donations and will be fundraising themselves offline, the Facebook page holds the capability for them to log in and update the total sum raised so far.

But the biggest and best trick to this is that the custom fan page has been built using WordPress. So? I hear you say, well this means that while Lowri and Helen are off on their 7 day trek in Africa, they can easily update their blog, even post photos, via their iPhone so that donors back home in sunny UK can keep an eye on their journey LIVE!

Design Reaction wish Lowri and Helen all the best.
